Jerry is just 50 years old, and has a multitude of health problems including: colon cancer survivor, stroke survivor, thyroid disease, he’s had his appendix, most of his colon and his gall bladder removed. Jerry’s current meds for Thyroid, stroke and diabetes are estimated to cost around $300/month (with insurance.)
For the past month, Jerry has not been working. His body went into severe Diabetic Ketoacidoses. This was caused by an infection..but the doctors are not sure what! You can read all the details of this crazy medical journey on my blog HillbillyHandiworks.com.
Jerry does work full time for the Mo Dept of corrections. Tonya has always been a stay at home, homeschool mother. She has worked jobs off and on when the need arose; but with her husband’s health working outside of the home is not an option at current time.
Jerry and Tonya’s family is blended; with two of their children living at home; boys ages 14 and 2.
